News in winter 2019/20
The colorful leaves are falling from the trees, the nights are getting colder, and the start of winter is fast approaching.
In little more than a month, we can haul our snowboards and skis out of the cellar and finally enjoy some thrilling turns on the pistes again. The anticipation is building!
This winter season 2019/20, we will once again be combining top-class sport and culinary delights with unique alpine experiences and excellent live music in our usual vibrant style. Find out here what new experiences await you on your next visit to Silvretta Montafon:
Pick-up boxes
Book an adventure holiday with all the trimmings quickly, easily and stress-free when you do it online. Accommodation, day tickets, alpine experiences and the right sports equipment, all in one place. The best thing about buying your ticket online is that you get more out of your holiday. There’s no queuing at the till, because it’s now really easy to collect your ticket at any of the three new pick-up boxes.
Find car-pooling friends on Facebook
Tired of driving alone to the Montafon? Then you should join the “Fahrgemeinschaft @ Silvretta Montafon” Facebook group! Traveling with others to your ski destination offers many benefits: you will meet new people, it’s more fun and enjoyable, and you can share your skiing tips and experiences on the way there. Not only that, it is more environmentally friendly and will save you money. And who knows – maybe you and your new skiing buddy will hit the slopes together!
Kästle Test&Buy Center
At the new Kästle Test&Buy Center (the world’s largest) at the Valisera cablecar valley station in St. Gallenkirch, there are 20 state-of-the-art models waiting to be tested! You can reserve skis just by visiting intersport-montafon.at and then switch as much as you like throughout your skiing day! If you find a particular model you like that you wish to purchase, the deposit fee of € 42 will be deducted from the sale price. So get down to St. Gallenkirch and put the skis of this classic Vorarlberg brand through their paces – ski aficionados have been using Kästle since 1924!
Freeride station
The adventure starts here: at the new freeride station at the Grasjoch cablecar mountain station! It offers a freeride safety area to practice your own LVS skills, freeride guiding, and bookable alpine experiences several times a week such as the Freeride Safety Check and Freeride Adventure Day. Or maybe just drop by, obtain snow and avalanche information, meet other freeriders, and enjoy powder snacks and coffee! All the info will be available soon on freeridestation.at. :)
Enjoy a sauna in the igloo village
Sweating inside an igloo? It might sound like the stuff of dreams, but from this winter it is possible in the Silvretta Montafon! Guests on one of our Night-time Igloo Adventure (available to book every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) can visit the sauna built into the igloo and enjoy a sauna experience with a view of the ski resort at night and the starry sky through the glass domed ceiling. A real winter treat! A little tip while we’re here: igloos are also available to book for exclusive corporate and group overnight stays.
Star Bar
A new star among party venues: this winter, you can look forward to rounding off your day’s skiing in style with après-ski at the refurbished, covered outdoor bar on the Nova Stoba terrace. The new Star Bar will soon shine with a supporting structure of steel and wood, with a roof in the center made from wood and glass. At the same time, we are renovating the bar and taps. As a practical add-on: in the future, our bar staff will have access from within the bar to the technical room directly underneath.
Live music every Thursday at the Alte Talstation
In the valley, the après-ski party continues seamlessly, as guests are drawn to a very special location full of atmosphere: the Alte Talstation! The venue at the Versettla cablecar valley station, which opened its doors last winter, is the place to be in the second half of the day! Every day from 15:30, you can round off a memorable day’s skiing in style in the company of DJ Sound (Fri–Weds) or some live music (every Thursday).
Revolverheld live on stage
The headliners of the grand season finale in the Silvretta Montafon are old friends: Revolverheld! The four boys from Hamburg will be supported by the three guitarists of High South from the USA, kicking off the festival mood in the mountains. Saturday, April 4, from 13:00 at the Valisera cablecar mountain station!
